Yes, we can give you an idea of what your smile will look like. Your dental team at Bluestone Dental routinely uses models and digital imaging to help our patients visualize the end results of cosmetic and restorative work. By simply asking the right questions, taking various photos and measurements of your current smile, we can create a model of your new smile that will demonstrate how your procedure will look. You can go home with your temporary smile to receive feedback from friends and family.
You will receive a full-time hygiene coordinator who will send you a card to remind you of your next checkup, typically every six months. While twice daily brushing and flossing go a long way towards maintaining a healthy mouth, it is wise to check for plaque that has hardened into tartar, which requires professional cleaning in order to avoid gingivitis.
While you, the mother and father, are the best judges of when your children should visit the dental office, our team generally recommends children come into the dental office by the age of four. On the first visit, we recommend the child sits on mommy or daddy's lap during the parent's dental cleaning, so the child can begin to have a positive, non-threatening experience of the dental office. This will lead to a lifetime of good dental health and a positive relationship with Drs. Lauck and Corley.
Yes, we are happy to accept referrals from other dental offices as well as from recommendations by our patients to their family and friends. Your referrals are our best compliments!
Our office accepts nearly all of the major insurance plans. Also, we are well -versed in the latest coverage trends, and are more than happy to discuss the particulars of your plan with you prior to any treatments you may undergo.
In case of a true dental emergency, please contact our office voice mail and let us know the nature of your condition. A team member will return your call as soon as possible, give you helpful information over the phone and then determine if you need to be seen immediately.
I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens if it comes off or breaks?
While this is rare, if your temporary crown comes off or breaks, carefully wrap up the piece(s), place it into a protective container, and call our office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Lauck or Dr. Corley to re-apply it as soon as possible. Under NO circumstances should you attempt to re-glue the crown or crown pieces back into position.
If your child needs immediate medical attention for uncontrolled bleeding, unconsciousness or other bodily injury, you should always visit the hospital emergency department as soon as possible. If there is no imminent medical emergency, please contact us immediately to see Dr. Lauck or Dr. Corley as soon as possible. Simply describe the situation over the phone and our team will help you determine the safest and most appropriate plan of action. In the meantime, if possible, place the tooth in a cup of milk, so the calcium will continue feeding the tooth.
We accept cash, personal checks and all major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Your insurance plan co-pay is due at the time of your visit, and Bluestone Dental can bill deductible payments over a period of time according to your particular situation. Please let us know ahead of time if you desire to pay in installments so we can structure an appropriate plan for you.

Yes, you do have other options! Bluestone Dental offers laser dentistry and air abrasion. Dental lasers provide drill-free treatment options that are faster and more comfortable than traditional methods. Air abrasion removes decay and prepares teeth for fillings without the drill. Dr. Lauck or Dr. Corley simply cleans out and prepares the site to be filled by sending a blast of tiny, high-speed aluminum oxide particles into the cavity itself. The particles hit the tooth under high pressure, bounce off at high speeds, and consequently blast away any decay. Air abrasion is quiet, quick, and relatively painless and avoids sacrificing tooth structure.
It is certainly not desirable to have bleeding gums following brushing. However, the condition may or may not require attention, depending on the source of the problem. Your bleeding gums can be caused by improper, rough, 'scrubbing' instead of gentle, circular brushing motions; using a hard-bristled tooth brush instead of a soft one; plaque and/or tartar build-up below the gum line; or gum sensitivity due to gingivitis or periodontal disease. If this problem persists despite correct brushing and flossing methods or occurs every time you brush, contact our office to set up an evaluation appointment.

Dr. Lauck and Dr. Corley have a number of ways to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of traditional braces. If you have slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth, a bit of reshaping and the addition of porcelain veneers may be sufficient to give you a bright, uniform look. In other cases, it may be necessary to attach 'invisible' braces behind the front teeth. Bluestone Dental also offers Invisalign braces, which straighten teeth through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners no one can tell you're wearing. Our team would be happy to talk with you further about the option that best suits your individual situation.
